Mom has been slacking..I have been doing so much in the last few months and she has been too busy to write about it.

These days I...

Dance, run, laugh, and play with everything I can get my hands on. My favorite things are the remote controls, books, the phone and my brother. I like to watch Barney, The Wiggles and Blue's Clues. I ask for Blue's Birthday.

I say....Uh oh, phone, Jesse, flaow-flaow for flower, shoes, juice, baby, bye-bye, yes, no, up, pow-pow for Potty Power, car, dog, duck, down, Daddy, Mommy, and more.

I love being held, sitting on the swing, going to the library, playing in the pool or sand table, and playing fetch with a ball.

Friday I shocked mommy by uttering three words within two hours. My first was bye-bye as we were walking out the door to go to lunch. We went to the Castle to eat some chicken and fries which I split with my brother. They have new owners but the service was still really slow. While there we walked around the docks and checked out the ducks. Mommy pointed and asked, "Do you see the ducks?" I replied, "ducks, ducks, ducks." She grabbed me, kissed my cheek and said, "yes, ducks!" I have been hearing this word for quite some time. We have been going every other day to feed them in town so I don't know why she was so amazed.

When we got home mom grabbed her camera (of course). My brother and I were playing and mom started snapping pictures. I was sitting in the laundry basket and I turned, caught her aimed at me and said, "cheese." She tossed the camera on the couch and grabbed me for another kiss.

Not sure why she is so shocked but if this is what it takes for some major mommy love, I will be tossing a few more words her way everyday.

The other day I received a prezzie. Mum did the honors and opened it up. Inside was a beautiful sea green box with a green bow and a card. She told me that it was from her Sheila and family in Australia. Wow...I didn't know we had mates/cobbers overseas. Well Buggar Me Dead!

So I opened the box and there was this awesome white tissue paper but then mom told me that that wasn't the prezzie and I should keep looking. I loved the paper!

They sent over this rad picture frame, it was the bee's knees. It had these awesome buttons that I couldn't stop touching.

Sunday was my 1st First Birthday Party. My Birthday is actually on the 14th but 1/2 of my family celebrated early. Dad's half; the Spanish side helped me ring in my first year on our lovely planet!

Planning for my first birthday is underway

Mom has been looking for the perfect dress for my 1st birthday. She thought she had found it. Ordered it and was told it would not be in until the end of April.

This is the one she wanted me to wear.

The invitations will certainly be mailed out by the end of next week at the latest.

Mom is arranging a DIVA party. She has no idea just what kind of a Diva I can truly be baby!

My Very First Christmas

Wow what a great few days it has been. Santa visited my house and left tons of gifts. On Christmas Eve, we went to my Tia's house for dinner. There were gifts there, and then when I woke up the next morning there were gifts at my house. I can't wait until next year.

My First Halloween - I was a devil

Happy Halloween
Tonight I went trick-o-treating for the first time. It was fun for a while to look at all the kids running and laughing then it got really dark. Mom was pushing me in a carriage and when I started crying Dad carried me. He is such a sucker! My Brother was Superman but he should have dressed as a baby. He didn't want to walk and Dad had to carry him the whole time. He also wouldn't give up his pacifier or go to anyone's house. If I could walk I would show him how it is done.

My parents made me wear the same costume that my brother wore on his first halloween. They had a good laugh telling everyone that I was a true devil. Real funny Mom and Dad.

Mom has this thing where she loves seeing my brother's clothes on me. She loved this outfit when he wore it so much so that it was the outfit she put him in at his baptism was over. She got it from her friend JoAnne at work. She mostly loves it because it is red, white and blue but also because it is so cute.

Yup that big guy is my Daddy. Watch out boys, he is big and strong and will knock your block off if you are not nice to me. I know it looks like I am screaming in this picture but I was very very tired. How can one tell that this is an actual yawn and not a scream. Notice the smile on Dad's face. Abuela was the first person to hold me, after Mom, Dad and the entire hospital staff. She has 5 grand kids already, I am number 6, the 5th girl granddaughter. My brother is the only grandson so far. She is soft and really good with babies. I hope the rest of the kids leave some room in her lap for lil ole me.

My Tia lives in California but she came all the way to New York to help my mom when she came home from the hospital. I get to see her again this Christmas. I will be so much bigger by then. Even though Mom keeps up with the pictures, I hope she recognizes me.

My God Sister

This is my God-Sister holding me at the hospital. I was 2 days old. She loves me already, I can feel it. She is going to teach me so much. Her mom and my mom are friends. My mom watched her being born. She says it was one of the best days her life. Her mommy and daddy are going to be my God-Parents. Which means we will be sisters in our hearts. I don't have a sister so I am pretty excited about that. Plus her mom buys her really nice clothes which I hope to inherit when she grows out of them.

HERE IS MOM RIGHT BEFORE SURGERY

Yes below this is my very first picture. Dad took the picture of me, I really wish he would have waited for me to put on some lipstick, maybe a little lip gloss. Mom was being sewn back together after I was cut from her warm, silky, womb. I was 7 lbs. 4 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Mom was very sick the whole time she was in surgery but she did get to see me for a moment. She held me while she was in recovery and told me that she loved me. I think I might love her too. We spent 3 days together in the hospital and it was wonderful. I had her all to myself. We got to know each other uninterrupted. Every day Daddy, my brother Jesse and my Abuela would come visit me and Mommy. I couldn't wait to go home.

A Girl Named Skye

Mom named me Skye.
As the story goes....
Dad got to decided on the boys name and mom got to decide on the girls name. My brother Jesse got his name because Dad was into Monster Garage and liked the name. If he was pushed Dad might come up with a deeper meaning but we will never know. My name has a much longer story.

Mom liked the name when she first heard it about 8 years ago. One of her best friend's co-workers named her daughter Skye and she thought it was a beautiful name. It conjured
up all kinds of things for her. It reminded her of the color blue, her favorite color, she also thought it was different. My grandma died when mom was 12 years old and mom wanted to honor her somehow but by not naming her "Diane" (Yup, that's Grandma's name). My aunt's middle name is Angelique which of course my Grandma chose. Mom collect angels and says that Grandma has always been her "Angel in the Sky." Mom didn't think Angelique Skye flowed as well so hence my name, "Skye Angelique." I think it's pretty too.
